The Salesman, dir. Asghar Farhadi

The Salesman Oscar-winning as best non-English film will be in the sixth edition of IFF Panama. It is the occasion time that director Asghar Farhadi wins an Oscar in the same category, the first time was in 2012 with A separation.

This movie was also included in the section "In competition" at the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival; in that same festival the lead role Shahab Hosseini won best actor and Asghar Farhadi obtained the prize to better script. On this occasion Farhadi also narrates his vision about the regulation that exists on the part of the Iranian government with respect to what the society can see, to listen or to read.

After Iranian couple Emad and Rana are forced to move to a new apartment, their life together is thrown into turmoil by an act of violence. They decide not to report the incident, and Rana's emotional withdrawal becomes more than Emad can bear. He begins his own investigation and is overcome by an increasing need for revenge.
