IFF PANAMA BRINGS ELENA MANRIQUE TO DELIVER PRODUCTION SEMINAR: FROM THE IDEA TO THE SPECTATOR

For its 6th edition, IFF Panama has invited the renowned Spanish producer Elena Manrique to present the seminar ‘From the Idea to the Spectator’. Part of IFF Panama’s education program, which aims to support the region’s film industry. The workshop will analyze a producer’s duty from a financial and creative standpoint.
The participants will learn about some of the essential aspects of producing. From the conception of an idea all the way to finding creative, financial and technical resources - to turning that idea into an audiovisual product. Manrique will close the seminar talking about the process of commercialization and marketing for a film.
Other points to be covered are: structure of film financing, tools of negotiation and the big-picture of today’s world market: independent cinema vs. Hollywood productions. This seminar has limited capacity for 40 people. Accredited members will have a special discount:

Born in Spain, Elena Manrique is the producer of Pan’s Labyrinth, The Orphanage, Cell 211 and Ciudad Delirio (which was presented at the fourth edition of IFF Panama, in 2015). Manrique considers that the strength of Latin American cinema lies primarily in the possibilities of co-productions, of which she’s already done five.
