A gala coated Balboa Theatre was the scene of the spectacular launch of the International Film Festival of Panama. Dozens of special , national and international guests , walked the red carpet that preceded the premiere of the great film Viva.


Edgar Ramirez, Luis Silva , Luis Alberto Garcia, Lucia Bosé , Marisa Paredes, Miguel Bosé , Geraldine Chaplin , Pato Castilla , Javier Ruiz Caldera, Nicolas Lopez , among many others, as well as a large representation of artistic and cinematic world of Panama, including directors Manolito Rodríguez , Ricardo Aguilar , Miguel Hernandez, Arturo Montenegro and Annie Cannavagio were the target of a great number of media cameras.

"The response has been very impressive this year," says the director of the International Film Festival of Panama, Pituka Ortega Heilbron, “from the public, the media and the international film community. The guest list we have is very interesting with a really attractive human texture, and they all are here for you”.

The screening of VIVA marked the beginning of the festival. The film excited and amused the thousand spectators gathered at the Teatro Balboa, an impression that flattered the leading man of the movie, actor Luis Alberto Garcia, present in the room.

The show began after an inaugural ceremony that was attended by the Vice - Minister of Commerce and Industry, Nestor Gonzalez , Minister of the Tourism Authority of Panama, Gustavo Him, the co -founder of IFF Panama, Rob Brown, President of the IFF Panama Foundation, Yasser Williams, the Artistic Director of the festival, Diana Sánchez and the Director General, Pituka Ortega Heilbron, besides the Cuban actor Luis Alberto Garcia.

"We are including Panama on the world cinema map. The festival attracts producers and filmmakers to come and see what is happening in Panama" said Nestor Gonzalez, vice-minister of Commerce and Industry.
